2020 is right around the corner, and that means the presidential elections are coming up. News anchors have made theories about who might be running and some presidential hopefuls have already announced their candidacy.

The list of potential candidates in 2020 are very diverse. Taking the first election of 1788 and comparing it to now, things have changed.  Ever since 1788 every candidate has looked nearly the same. But, if you look at the candidates for 2020 you’ll notice they each stand for different things and are physically diverse.

 

Here are the candidates that have announced so far:

Elizabeth Warren, US Senator from Massachusetts

Cory Booker, US Senator from New Jersey

Julian Castro, Served as 16th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama

Kamala Harris, US Senator from California

Pete Buttigieg,  Mayor of South Bend, Indiana

 

Possible people who may run:

Joe Biden, Vice President of the United States from 2009 to 2017

Beto O’Rourke, US Congressman

Howard Schultz, American businessman. Chairman and CEO of Starbucks (1986 to 2000/2008 to 2017)

Michael Bloomberg, American businessman, Former Mayor of New York City

 

President Trump has already announced he’s running for re-election. There are several Republicans who say they might want to challenge him for the nomination.
