“And The Oscar Goes To…” The Oscars 2020

February 11, 2020
“And the Oscar goes to… Luna Molla!” Just kidding! The Oscars are an annual event that honors exceptional actors, movie directors, movies, etc. Last night was the 92nd Oscars, with the first one being in 1929. To keep the actors and viewers entertained, comedians, musicians, and everything in between come to present awards and perform between commercials. I don’t know if it’s just me, but every year, the highlight of the Oscars is watching the red carpet and looking at everyone’s dresses and watching the singing performances.
This year, the musical performers consisted of Billie Eilish, one of the biggest musical stars in the world, John Elton, a classic, Idina Menzel, who was Elsa in Frozen and sang “Into the Unknown”, and Janelle Monáe, who opened the Oscars with a sensational musical number, singing her own songs and some classics with the lyrics changed to suit the Oscars and the nominated movies.
Many comedians presented the Academy Award to these sensational actors, directors, producers, and everything in between:
Best Motion Picture: Parasite
Best Director: Bong Joon Ho, Parasite
Best Actress: Renée Zellweger, Judy
Best Actor: Joaquin Phoenix, Joker
Best Supporting Actor: Brad Pitt, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Best Supporting Actress: Laura Dern, Marriage Story
Best Animated Feature Film: Toy Story 4
These are just a few of the fantastic artists and awards that were given out. See you on the red carpet, Cougars!!
