Space X: Changing Space Travel

Space X: Changing Space Travel

Luis Ortega, Writer

Space X is doing something very important for humanity right now. They are blazing a trail into the future.

Space X, the private space exploration company owned by Elon Musk, is setting some pretty awesome goals. First, the basics:

  • The full name is Space Exploration Technologies Corporation.
  • The creator of Space X is Elon Musk.
  • Space X was the first private company to launch and return a spaceship from Earth orbit.
  • Also, that space craft went to the International Space Station.
  • The headquarters are in Hawthorne, California, just outside of Los Angeles.
  • Elon Musk’s dream was to make space travel affordable (which means that he wanted people to travel space like in Star Wars).

Space X blasted off with the Falcon 1 Rocket, a two stage liquid-fueled craft. It was designed to send small satellites into Earth’s orbit. In March 2006 was the first Falcon 1 launch, which began successfully but ended horribly because of a fuel leak that caused a fire. But since this happened the company has earned millions.

SpaceX’s net worth in 2021 is approximately $74 billion dollars, and Elon Musk’s net worth is approximately $172 billion. So, if you wanna become a multibillionaire just make a space ship company.

Space X is planning to build and use his spaceship named Starship for a flight around the moon carrying Japanese businessman Maezawa Yusaku and other artists in 2023. But, more importantly, he’s also planning to send people to Mars in 2026.

Elon has successfully done a lot of great stuff during the years from building the world’s largest and most successful electric car company to building a Space ship company.  Pretty amazing!

I hope you learned a lot about the history of Space X and had fun reading this articles.
